Karen A. Yacovelli, 73, of Fords, NJ, passed peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of her family, on September 17, 2026.

She was born in Perth Amboy, NJ, on June 28, 1953, and was a graduate of Woodbridge High School, Class of 1971. Karen lived in the Fords and Keasbey sections of Woodbridge Township, where she worked, made lifelong friends, and raised her family.

Karen cherished time spent with her family. She enjoyed reminiscing, cooking, watching television, and playing video games. She will be remembered for the love she shared with those closest to her and the many memories she created with her family.

She was predeceased by her beloved parents, John “Jim” and Ann Kunie.

She is survived by her beloved daughter, Michele N. Schaber; her beloved son, Michael J. Yacovelli, and daughter-in-law, Melissa, of Avenel, NJ; her granddaughter, Gracie Yacovelli; her brother, John Kunie, and sister-in-law, Joyce, of Colonia; nieces, Catherine and Deanna Kunie; and her loving kitty, Lola.

Private cremation services were entrusted to the care of Flynn and Son/Mitruska Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Karen’s memory to a charity of your choice.
