July 20, 1942 – July 23, 2025
Joyce M. Yunckes, 83, of Perth Amboy, passed peacefully, on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at the Raritan Bay/Hackensack Meridian Medical Center in Perth Amboy, NJ.
Born and raised in Perth Amboy, Joyce was a graduate of Perth Amboy High School with the Class of 1960. She retired in 2012 after 54 years as Executive Secretary with the Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer Law Firm in Woodbridge, NJ. Joyce was a communicant, Lecturer, Eucharistic Minister, and member of the Altar Rosary Society for St Stephen RC Church of St. John Paul II Parish of Perth Amboy. She was also a member of the Good Shepherd Parish Rosarians.
Joyce was the kind woman you just loved to be around. In addition to traveling around the country, she always enjoyed going to the Jersey Shore and Ocean City, Maryland, the most. She was always up for a shopping trip; as we all know, she had a sense of style that was flawless.
She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Harry and Martha Schurig, and her sister, Elaine Anania.
Joyce leaves behind her beloved husband of 63 years, John M Yunckes; her two beloved children, Jeffrey Yunckes of the Iselin section of Woodbridge Twp. and Jodi Anania and her husband, David, of East Brunswick, NJ and her four cherished grandchildren: Beth, Paul and Paige Anania and Justin Yunckes.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 27, 2025, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Flynn and Son/ Mitruska Funeral Home Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avnue. Fords, NJ 08863.
Funeral Services will take place on Monday, July 28, 2025, at 9:30 am from the funeral home followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Liturgy at St. Stephen's RC Church of the St. John Paul II Parish in Perth Amboy. Interment will follow in St Gertrude Cemetery Mausoleum in Colonia.
