Joy Helene Huether, 78, of Edison, passed away on November 3, 2024, at Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains. She was born in Plattsburgh, NY, on January 28, 1946. Joy was a retired Sales Associate for Macy's Department Store. She was a graduate of Edison High School, Class of 1964. Joy was a communicant of St. Francis Cathedral in Metuchen and enjoyed traveling.

Joy was predeceased by her husband, of 52 years, Robert Huether and a brother, Andre Shebel.

She is survived by two sons, Gregory Huether, and his wife, Loren, of Madison, NJ,  and Marc Huether, of Edison; three grandsons, Jonathan, Alexander, and Liam Huether; six sisters: Pamela Shebel, of West Windsor, Mary Jo Gudmestad, of New Hope, PA, Susan Almquist, of Delanco, NJ, Kathleen Koletis, of Westbrook, ME, Theresa Adams, of Norfolk, VA, and Lu Ann Fayder, of Edison; two brothers, Robert Shebel, of Edison, and John Shebel, of Ellicott City, MD.

Visitation will be on Friday, November 8, 2024, from 7-9 pm at the Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Ave., Metuchen, NJ 08840. A Funeral Liturgy will he on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, 10:15, am at St. Francis Cathedral. Cremation is private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joy's name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
