Josephine Christopher (nee Jacovinich) 81, of Fords died Saturday, June 12, 2010, at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born in Port Reading, Josephine was a life long resident of Woodbridge Township.

She was the Owner and President of Young Ideas Nursery School in Woodbridge for the past 28 years. She was previously employed at Alpha Associates and New Jersey Wood Finishing Co. in Woodbridge.

Josephine was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Perth Amboy where she taught Sunday School. She was a member of the PTO, the Mr. & Mrs. Club, the seniors club, the Ladies Phioptachos Society, and the recipient of the 1992 Mother of the Year Award. Josephine was a graduate of Drake Business College. She was a member of AARP of Woodbridge, the Woodbridge Chamber of Commerce, the Market Square Seniors in Perth Amboy and the past President of the Heather Village Condo Association.

She is predeceased by her husband, George J. in 1990, brothers Tulio and Peter Jacovinich, and her sister, Lillian Dellapietro.

Surviving family members include a son James G. and wife Denise of Woodbridge; daughters Lillian and husband Marc Ciamarra of Sayreville, Diane and Raymond Schrieks of Fords; 7 gtandchildren: Marc, Ashley, Christopher, Alexander, Matthew, Hallee, and Hope.

Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at 9:15 am from FLYNN AND SON/KOYEN FUNERAL HOME, 319 Amboy Avenue, Metuchen, New Jersey, followed by 10:00 am service at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. Burial will follow in Clover Leaf Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 15, from 4-8 pm. A Trisigon service will be held at 7:30 pm.

Contributions are requested to St. Demetrios in lieu of flowers.
