Dr. Joseph D. Wirtenberg, of East Brunswick, passed away December 25, 2015 in Delray Beach, Fl, at the age of 91. He was born in New York City and has resided in East Brunswick for the past 51 years,

Dr. Wirtenberg was a self-employed Dentist for 49 years with his practice in East Brunswick, before retiring in 2004. He was very passionate about his work and so enjoyed seeing his patients.

He was a member of the American Dental Association, and very proud to be an Army Veteran of WW II.

In his spare time he enjoyed traveling with his wife, and visiting his children and grandchildren.

Dr. Wirtenberg is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years and best friend Judy Gordon Wirtenberg, his loving daughters Susan Jeric and her husband Randy of Maple Valley, Washington, and Elaine Sacco and her husband Joseph of Long Valley, his dearest grandchildren Sarah and Alex and 4 step grandchildren and his brother Ralph Wirtenberg.

Funeral services will be held on Monday December 28, 2015 at 12:30 pm at the Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home 319 Amboy Avenue, Metuchen. A cemetery service will follow in Beth Israel Memorial Park in Woodbridge.
