Joseph F. Valendo Sr. 91, of Edison, entered into eternal rest, Thursday April 11, 2013 at the N J Veterans Home in Menlo Park. He was born in Elizabeth and is formerly of Leesburg, FL, moving to Edison in 2002.

Joseph faithfully served our country in the Navy during WW II. After his military service he worked as a Lab Technician at GAF Corp. in Linden for 35 years before retiring in 1983.

He is survived by his sons Joseph F. Jr. and his wife Loretta of Edison, Francis J. and his wife Louise of Spotswood, and Eugene R. of Pasadena, MD, his grandchildren Loren, Michael, Rose, Christina, and Theodore, six great grandchildren and his brother Francis and his wife Helen, of Manahawkin.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 17, 2013 at 8:30 am at the Flynn and Son/ Koyen Funeral Home 319 Amboy Avenue, Metuchen, followed by a 9 am funeral liturgy at St. James R C Church in Woodbridge. Interment will be in Brig. General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown, NJ. Visitation is Tuesday 6pm to 9 pm
