Joseph A. "Rex" Critelli, 95, of Perth Amboy, entered into eternal rest, October 30, 2017, at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge.  He was born in Perth Amboy and was a lifelong resident of the city.

Joseph owned Rex Auto Body Service in Perth Amboy for 30 years before retiring in 1979.  He then worked in Auto Body Maintenance for Middlesex County in North Brunswick for 11 years before retiring in 1991.

Joseph faithfully served his country in the Army during WW II.

He was a communicant of Good Shepherd Parish at Holy Spirit Church then Holy Rosary Church.  He was a member of the Holy Spirit Seniors, the Holy Spirit Holy Name Society, The Catholic War Veterans Rosary Memorial Post #1613, the Italian Tripoli Club, and the Hopelawn VFW Post #1352.  He also was an avid boccie ball player and won many tournaments.

Joseph was predeceased by, Rose, his wife of 66 years, in 2012.  He is survived by his daughter, JoAnn Jarvis and her husband, Bill, of Perth Amboy; his granddaughter, Jessica Conte and her husband, John Jr., of Edison; great-grandson, Jason Conte; his caregiver, Dora Klein; two godchildren, Linda Mastroeni Cruz and Cara Malloy; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at 9:30 am at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Liturgy at Holy Rosary Church.  Entombment will be in St. Gertrude Mausoleum.  Visitation is Friday 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to Holy Rosary Church.
