Reap, Jr.
September 4, 1951 – January 26, 2026
Joseph John Reap, Jr., passed away at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital on January 26, 2026. He was 74.
Long-time resident of Edison, born in New Brunswick, Joseph was loved by all. He had a great outlook on life and often said: "We are here for a short time – so let's have a good time". Joseph was a true Buffalo Bills and New York Yankees fan who thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was a truck driver for Permacel in New Brunswick, and also worked part-time with FBN Auto Sales in Highland Park for 20 years. Joseph was a parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle R.C. Church in Old Bridge, member the Knights of Columbus in Highland Park, and a member of the Edison Moose Lodge #1978 in Edison. He also loved hunting, fishing and a good party!
Joseph was predeceased by his wife, Donna (Calantoni) Reap in 2005; brother, Robert Reap in 2019; brother-in-law Peter Wyshneff; and granddaughter Marissa Kohler.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Deborah Urbanski; children: Joseph Reap and his wife Diane, Tiffany and her husband Thomas Kohler, Jeffrey Reap and his wife Stephanie; sister: Deborah Wyshneff, Dolores and her husband Charles Hoffmann; brother in law Vincent Calantoni; grandchildren: Korina and her husband Daniel Crichigno, Amber Reap, Jayden Martins, Vanessa Kohler, Ava Kohler, Alexa Kohler, Thomas Kohler Jr., Joseph Kohler, Victoria Kohler, Troy Kohler, Jaxon Reap, Elisha Kohler,; and great grandchildren: Luca, Luna & Ivy Crichigno.
Family and friends may visit at Flynn and Son/Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ on Sunday, February 1,2026 from 2-6 pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 2, 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a 10:30 am Mass at St. Thomas the Apostle R.C Church, 333 State Route 18, Old Bridge, NJ. Cremation will be private. Donations in Joseph's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org
