Joseph Patrick, 87 of Fords, passed away on July 31, 2015 at home with his family by his side. Born in Fords, Joseph lived most of his life in Fords.
He worked for his uncle, Joe Paloti at J. Bar M. Stables in Edison as a trail guide in Roosevelt Park. In addition to horseback riding and fishing, he also enjoyed going to the casinos, flea markets and the horse races.
Joseph enlisted in the US Army and served in the Korean War under Company A 423rd Engineering Construction Battalion, Fort Benning, GA.
He retired from the Middlesex Water Company after 30 plus years of service. He was also a loyal employee and friend to the Multiple Listing System of Fords.
He was predeceased by his wife Arlene Gorriss Patrick of 61 years, who passed away in February and his brothers, William and Robert Patrick.
Joseph is survived by his daughter Jo Ann Hassay and husband Mark of Fords; grandchildren Jamie Spearnock and husband Kevin of Fords, Kori Ann Allen and husband Shawn of Aberdeen and Jonathan Hassay of Fords. Also survived by four loving great granddaughters Madelyn, Sophia, Sarah, and Abigail.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 10 am from Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, followed by a 10:30 am mass at Our Lady of Peace Church, Fords. Entombment will be in Clover Leaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the funeral home.
