Joseph M. Paone, 96, of Hopelawn, passed away on January 15, 2022, at Raritan Bay Medical Center Perth Amboy.  He was born in Perth Amboy and has lived in Hopelawn for 65 years.  Joe fought for his country in WWII, serving in the Army.  He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, Perth Amboy for 25 years.  Joe was a member of Good Shepherd Parish of Holy Rosary Church, Hopelawn.

Joe took pride in his family and his home. He enjoyed gardening, taking care of his property and shining his Lincoln Town Car. He loved rooting for his sports teams -- especially the NY Yankees -- and enjoyed his winters in Florida with Mom for many years. But most of all, he loved being with his children and grandchildren.

Joe was predeceased by his brothers and sister, Antonio "Tut" Paone, Dominic Paone, Pasquale Paone and Mary Paone.

Joes is survived by his wife of 68 years, Rose (Sama) Paone; his four sons and daughters, Gary Paone and daughter-in-law Michelle, JoAnn Urban and son-in-law Greg, Patricia Aochoa and son-in-law Brian and Tony Paone and daughter-in-law Carol; his six grandchildren, Shauna, Louis, Jamie, Mario, Gina and Matthew; and his great granddaughter, Carina.

Funeral service will be held privately at the family's request.
