Joseph Niedzwiecki, 92, of Perth Amboy, passed away at JFK Medical Center in Edison on Feb 4, 2022.
Born and raised in Perth Amboy, he was a lifelong resident of the city, and a graduate of Perth Amboy High School. He had numerous interests and hobbies, all of which he pursued with a high degree of intellect. In high school, he became interested in radio... back when they still had vacuum tubes. He later assembled a stereophonic sound component system when this technology was in its infancy. As a young man he became interested in photography... developing and printing black and white photos. Joseph was a member of the Boy Scouts. He climbed the ranks and earned merit badges to "Life" scout, just short of Eagle. Years later, he became Scout Master of the same troop he belonged to at St. Stephen's, Troop #8, assisted by his late brother Al. He loved working on wood carvings, growing orchids, and backpacking with brother Ray on the Appalachian Trail. Joseph loved to dance and was an outstanding dancer. He was a dedicated family man and devoted husband to his beloved Mary Ann.
Joseph was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years Mary Ann (Hospodor) on January 14, 2022; his parents Grzegorz Niedzwiecki and Pauline Pedro, (Dombrowicki); his brothers, Alfred "Al" and Robert "Bob"; and two sons, Gregory and Joseph. He is survived by his daughter, Judith "Judy" Pinsky, and her husband, Alan Pinsky; his son John; 2 brothers, Edward "Ned" and Raymond "Ray"; 2 Grandchildren, Lauren Pinsky and Bryan Pinsky. and many special nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Mass at St. Stephen's Catholic Church and interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Hopelawn took place privately.
