Joseph Miller, 89, of Boynton Beach, FL, and Bethpage, NY, passed peacefully on Saturday, November 9, 2013, at his Florida residence after leading a long and full life. An Engineering graduate from NYU with a Master's Degree from Stevens Institute of Technology, he had a career lasting over 50 years at Long Island Lighting Company, retiring as the Manager of the Protection Division. He proudly served his country in the US Army 75th Infantry Division in World War II, earning a Purple Heart and was nominated for a Bronze Star.
He was predeceased by his parents, Benjamin and Mary (Katz) Miller.
He leaves behind his wife, Rose (Fuchs) Miller; his daughter, Sara Miller (Moe) of Keller, TX; his two sons, Lee Miller of the Highlands, NJ and Warren Miller of Monroe, NY. He is the grandfather of Alex, Jessica, Samantha, Francia, Benjamin, and Joanna Miller, and Brian and Michelle Moe. Joseph is the brother of Abraham Miller of Wyncote, PA, and the great grandfather of Julia and Cameron Miller.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 424 East Ave., Perth Amboy, NJ, 08861 followed by interment in Congregation Shaarey Tefiloh Cemetery, Perth Amboy. Shiva will be observed at the son, Warren's home in Monroe, NY.
