Joseph "Ernie" Maillet, 87, of Fords, passed away on June 8, 2016 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy. He was born in St. Alphonse de Clare, Nova Scotia, and had resided in Fords for 51 years.

Joseph was employed for 35 years in the Maintenance Department with Middlesex County Parks, retiring in 2005. He was a lifetime member of the Volunteer Fire Department, Garfield Company #5, and the First Aid Squad of Perth Amboy.

Joseph was predeceased by his wife, Patricia (Badolato) in 2003, and his sisters, Laura Venezia, Fay Gaudet and Ella Fox. Surviving are his daughter, Michele Berrocal of Woodbridge, his brother, Gerald Maillet of Ontario, Canada, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held 8:30 AM on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, with a Funeral Liturgy at 9:00 AM at Our Lady Peace RC Church, Fords. Interment will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery. Viewing will be Friday 4-8 PM.
