Joseph Ellington Jr. 71 of Perth Amboy entered into eternal rest, Wednesday May 7, 2014 at his home. He was born in Tuskeegee, AL, and was formerly of Englishtown before moving to Perth Amboy 45 years ago.

Joseph worked as a mechanic at Sunshine Biscut in Sayreville for 35 years before retiring in 2002. He then worked as a construction worker with Laborers local #594 in New Brunswick for 2 years.

He was a member of the BPO Elks Lodge #784, and the Moose Lodge #1360 both in Perth Amboy. Joe loved to sing and in his spare time he enjoyed fishing.

Joseph was predeceased by his daughter Crystal Ellington Withers.

He is survived by his wife Lessie L. Garrett Ellington and his children Margo Ellington of South Amboy, Sandra Ellington-Cole and her husband Mack of Rahway, Geraldine Ellington and her fiance Tariq of Atlanta, GA, Anita Ellington, and Warren Ellington both of Perth Amboy. He is also survived by his grandchildren Daryl Joseph Scott and Marcus I. Cole and great grandson Jacob R. Bermudez, and his siblings David Ellington and his wife Sharon of Perth Amboy, Dorothy Hawthorne and her husband Ethelbert of Perth Amboy, Bernice Diaz of Plainfield, and Gloria Ellington of Long Branch.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 15, 2014 at 11 am at the Faith Deliverance Family Worship Center and Bible Institute 337 Herbert Street, Perth Amboy.
The viewing will be from 9-11 am at the Church.
