Joseph Jardot Jr, 87, of Edison, passed away at home on May 26, 2014. He was born December 28, 1926, in Carteret. He graduated from Carteret High School. Joseph served his country, as an Aviation Mechanic aboard the USS Ticonderoga, during WWII. He was a Maintenance Mechanic for Shell Oil in Seawaren for 37 years. He was a Communicant of Guardian Angel's Church in Edison and was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Carteret. Joseph received his pilot's license and volunteered his time to aircraft restoration, in Robbinsville, NJ.
Joseph was predeceased by his first wife, Josephine Jardot, in 1969; two sisters, Ruth Currie and Dorothy Pipperri; and two step-sons.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Grace (nee Calamita) Jardot, of Edison; son, Chris Jardot and his wife Joann of Edison; daughter, Barbara Lombardo and her husband Charles of Monroe Twp.; step-daughter, Virginia Stimpert of Edison; sister, Kathleen Schlemm of Milwaukee, WI.; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863. Services will begin on Friday; 9:15 at the funeral home followed by a 10 am Funeral Liturgy at Guardian Angel's Church in Edison. Interment will be in St Gertrude's Cemetery.
