On Thursday, October 13, 2022, Joseph R. Borkes, beloved husband, father, grandfather and uncle,
entered into eternal life.

He was born October 25, 1938 in Fords NJ, where he spent his childhood and early adult years. Joe earned his Bachelors Degree in Accounting from St. Peters College in Jersey City, NJ and went on to earn his MBA from St. Johns University in NY. Joe worked as an Accountant and retired from Securitas in Parsippany.

He and his wife Frances (Quish) moved to Woodbridge, NJ and later to Edison NJ, where they had two daughters, Elissa Krapp and Christine Borkes. They moved to, and raised the girls in Branchburg, NJ and moved to Bayville, NJ full time in 2005. Joe enjoyed spending time with many new friends in their neighborhood, breakfasts with friends at the local McDonalds and lunches and visits with his close friend, Art Delaney. Over the last couple of years at home in Bayville, Joe enjoyed frequent visits from his nephew Gary, where they shared many talks and laughs, and where he earned his job as daily caretaker of the gardens that Gary planted for him and Fran. Joe was an avid life long Jets and Yankees fan, and loved any dessert you'd put in front of him. Joe's greatest joy was his family. He had a great fondness for all his nieces and nephews and loved
family get togethers. His three great joys were his grandchildren, Curran, Campbell and Kaleb. He loved every recital, sports game, concert, and birthday party he could spend with them. He was a devoted and loving grandfather, and will be sorely missed by them.

Friends may call at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, where the family will have a memorial visitation on Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm, and where funeral services will begin on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 10:00 am. A Memorial Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10:30am in Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Fords.  Inurnment of Joe's cremated remains will take place in Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway.
