Obituary

Josefina "Quintina" Jimenez, 75, passed away on November 27, 2010, at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy .

Born in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico, she immigrated to NJ in 1952, living most of those years in Perth Amboy.

Prior to her retirement in 2000, she had been employed by Edison Products for 20 years and had also worked at RCA in Avenel for 15 years. She was also a parishioner of La Asuncion Catholic Church in Perth Amboy . Josefina will always be remembered for her generosity and compassion for all. She was everyone's mother. No one ever left her home hungry. She loved to cook and was known for bringing home the homeless and the hungry to feed them. She touched the lives of everyone who knew her and will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered.

She is predeceased by her parents Petra and Teodoro Jimenez, her sisters: Adelaida Fuentes, Stefania and Maria Jimenez; and her brothers: Maximino, Audeliz (Juan) and Lorenzo Jimenez.

Josefina is survived by her daughter Maria Sawler and her husband Patrick of Iselin with whom she lived, and a son LAPD Officer Juan (John) Cruz of Covina, CA; her five grandchildren: Jose Santiago, Christina Sawler, Eric Wanda, Elizabeth and Michael Cruz; and six great-granchildren: Haylie, Zamian, Eric, Kyle, John, and Joseph. She is also survived by her sisters: Felicita Reyes, Beinvenida Jimenez, Margarita Medina; her brother, Carmelo Jimenez; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Services will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday from the Flynn & Son Funeral Home, 424 East Avenue, Perth Amboy. A 10:00 a.m. Funeral Liturgy will follow at La Asuncion Catholic Church in Perth Amboy. Interment will follow in Alpine Cemetery.
