Jose D. Santos, age 54, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on December 12, 2025. He was born in Perth Amboy on July 28, 1971. A lifelong resident of the area, Jose lived in both Perth Amboy and Edison, NJ and was a principal for the Perth Amboy Board of Education, specifically the English Second Language (ESL) school.

Jose is predeceased by his mother, Altagracia Tavares.

Surviving Jose is his beloved wife, Eugenia Maldonado; his children Sofia Santos and Sienna Santos; his stepsons, Jonathan Rodriguez and Jeremy Rodriguez; his grandson Greyson Rodriguez; his sister Anibelka Squires; and his stepsister Milady Tejada.

Visitation will take place from 5:00 PM to 7:00PM on Monday, December 15, 2025, at the Flynn and Son / Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863. Cremation will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jose's memory may be made out to the Catholic Charities Diocese of Metuchen .
