Jose L. Fontanez, 32, of Matawan, passed away on September 10, 2019, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel.  Born in Newark, Jose resided in Connecticut and Perth Amboy, before moving to Matawan.  He was a forklift operator and maintenance worker for Madison Township Lumber and Supply Company, Matawan.  Jose loved to write and sing, and especially cherished his time with his children and seeing them happy.

Jose is survived by his four children; Ashley, Jose Jr., Nathan and Anthony; his mother, Maria Fontanez; his brother, Samuel; and his sisters, Angelica, Maria, Keara and Tasha.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019, at 10:30 AM, from Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 424 East Ave., Perth Amboy.  Interment will be in Alpine Cemetery, Perth Amboy.  Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM.
