Obituary

John N. Vaticano, 73, of Bartonsville, PA, passed away at home on July 5, 2025. He was born on December 6, 1951, in Perth Amboy. Formerly of Edison, John was a Sergeant in the Edison Police Department. He was also a Drill Sergeant at the Edison Police Academy.  John served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and supported the Tunnels to Towers Foundation. He was a fan of the NY Yankees and Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed classic cars and trucks and old Western movies. John was very handy around the house and built furniture.

He was predeceased by his brother, Salvatore Vaticano, and his sister, Theresa Greenstein.

John is survived by his wife, Michelle Vaticano, of Bartonsville, PA; three daughters: Deana Scherb, and her husband, Alan, of Clark; Quinn Vaticano, of VA; and Zoe Vaticano, of NYC; two sons, Nick Vaticano and Jon Vaticano, and his wife, Lisa, of Sayreville; nine grandchildren: Christian, Charlotte, Nick, Kevin, Matthew, Tiffany, A.J., Mia, and Alex; two brothers, Carmelo Vaticano, and his wife, Jean, of Edison and Vincent "Jay" Vaticano of NJ; two sisters, Dominica Vaticano of FL and Angela Vaticano also of FL.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 3:00 to 7:00 pm, with a service at 6:30 pm at the Flynn and Son/Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ 08863. Cremation will be private.
