John A. Salera 83, of Edison, entered into eternal rest, Thursday December 12, 2013 at Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was born in Newark, and has resided in Edison for the past 42 years.

John was an Inspector at NJ Division of Motor Vehicle in Westfield for 25 years before retiring in 1990

He was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace R C Church in Fords.

John was predeceased by his sister Josephine Mezyk in 2002. He is survived by his sister Florence Sandor of Old Bridge, nephews and niece Joseph Mezyk, Michael and Joseph Sandor, and Roseann Terry.

Funeral services will be held on Monday December 16, 2013 at 10 am at the Flynn and son Funeral Home 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, followed by a 10:30 am funeral liturgy at Our Lady of Peace R C Church. Interment will be in St. Gertrude Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday December 15, 2013, 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions are requested to the American Diabetes foundation.
