John J. Reinhardt Jr., 73, of Tinton Falls, formerly of Edison, passed away peacefully at home on October 23, 2026. He resided in Edison for 30 years.

He was a graduate of Seton Hall University, Class of 1975, where he was a member of the school marching band.

John was a proud retired nonprofit accountant who worked at Hackensack Meridian Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy, where he met his wife Cathy, as well as Christian Brothers Academy and Catholic Charities USA.

John was a dedicated sports official who enjoyed refereeing basketball games and umpiring softball games. He was an avid Devils, Mets and Jets fan and also enjoyed playing ping pong.

John was predeceased by his wife, Catherine Reinhardt, in 2017.

He is survived by his children, John J. Reinhardt III and his wife, Lauren Saliski, of Freehold, and Colleen Reinhardt, of Weehawken; and his two grandchildren, Theodore and Archie.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Ave., Metuchen, NJ 08840. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 29, at 10 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Metuchen.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in John's name may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
