John T. "Luke" Lewkowicz's Obituary
John T. "Luke" Lewkowicz , 54, of Perth Amboy,died October 7, 2011, at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy.
Born July 3,1957, he was life-long resident of Perth Amboy. "Luke" was a retired Physical Education teacher from Irvington High School. He was a graduate of Kane University, where he also received Masters Degrees in Education and Psychology. He worked with youth for substance and alcohol abuse. He enjoyed sports including, fishing, and running in the New York City Marathon. He had a Black Belt in Tae Kwan Do.
"Luke" was predeceased by his late mother, Helen Lewkowicz, in 2004. He is survived by his son, Alexander Nemeth of Perth Amboy; his father, John Lewkowicz; his sister, Jo Ann De John of Perth Amboy; his brother, Joseph Lewkowicz of Toms River; and four nieces.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 10, at 12:30 at the Jerrah Mosque located at 884 Chestnut Ridge Rd., New York. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery in Linden.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ 08863, on Wednesday, October 12, 2011, from 6:00-8:00 pm.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends of Bill W.
