John "Sam" J. Deffler's Obituary
John "Sam" J. Deffler, 78, of Fords died May 18, 2011 at JFK Medical Center, Edison.
Born March 24, 1933, he was a life-long resident of Fords. He was a carpenter for 35 years with Carpenters Local 106, Milltown, retiring in 2005. "Sam" was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a life member of the the Fords Volunteer Fire Department with 51 years of service and served as Fire Chief in 1975.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa(Jedrusiak) in 2007. He is survived by his son, John of Fords; daughter, Denise Abrego and her husband Thomas of
South Plainfield; grandchildren: Samantha, Rebecca, Jesse, Hannah,
Emily, and Sarah; and brother, Edwin in PA.
Arrangements are under the direction of FLYNN AND SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords. Cremation will be private.
