John E. Honan, 92, a lifelong resident of Perth Amboy, passed peacefully, with the love of his family at his side, on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the Venetian Care & Rehabilitation Center, South Amboy.
He was a veteran of WW II, serving in the US Army.
John received his BS degree from Rutgers University, New Brunswick in 1962.
He was a retired metallurgist from Raritan River Steel in Perth Amboy, prior to that, he had been employed with ASARCO of South Plainfield for over forty years.
John was a communicant of The Good Shepherd Parish at Most Holy Rosary Church in Hopelawn and was a member of the Holy Rosary Seniors.
He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Jeanne A. Honan, who died on May 7, 2015.
John leaves behind his beloved son, Terry and his wife Luisa, of Cream Ridge and his beloved daughter, Gayl Hari of Kettering, OH, his two grandchildren; Kimberly and Cathy and his four great-grandchildren; Emily, Sarah, Elizabeth, and Ethan.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 , from 5 pm to 7 pm at, the Flynn and son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave. Fords, NJ 08863.
Funeral services will begin on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 8:30 am from the Flynn and son Funeral Home, followed by a 9 am Funeral Liturgy at Most Holy Rosary Church, of the Good Shepherd Parish, Hopelawn. Entombment will follow in Clover Leaf Memorial Park Mausoleum, Woodbridge.
