John F. Holencik, 92, of Edison, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2016, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in Winburne, PA, he lived in Perth Amboy and graduated from Perth Amboy High School, Class of 1941. John eventually settled in Edison where he had resided for the past 54 years. Prior to his retirement, he was an Electrical Foreman with Dupont Chemical in Parlin for 35 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served with the 82
nd
Airborne Division during WWII. He was an avid golfer.
John was predeceased by his siblings, Vera, Ann, Katherine, Helen, Dorothy, and Michael.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Margot "Margo" Holencik; his daughter, Maria Conlon of Sayreville; his grandchildren, Heather Molnar and her husband, John and Sean Conlon and his wife, Stephanie; and his four great-grandchildren: Hunter, Lauren, Riley and Olivia.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2016, at the Flynn and son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ 08863. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Fords.
