Obituary

John G. Harvie, 93, passed away at home on January 11, 2026. He was born on August 12, 1932, in Jersey City. John was a Veteran of the US Marine Corps, serving during the Korean War. He was a retired Foreman for the Continental Can Corporation. John loved spending time with his family, playing cards with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoying the sun and his pool.

He is predeceased by his wife, Marie H. Harvie in 2020; a brother, William Harvie and a sister, Doris Wares.

John is survived by a son, Robert Harvie, of Fords; three daughters, Diane Harvie, and her husband, John Roscoe, of Alva, WY; Anne Bradley, and her husband, Robert, of Howell; Denise Harvie, of Woodbridge, and adopted daughter and dear family friend, Irene Brennan, of Fords; five grandchildren: Leanna Roscoe, Shannon Andretta, and her husband Chris, Robert Bradley Jr., Joseph Bradley, and Aimee Ludwig; three great-grandchildren: Emma Andretta, Christopher Andretta Jr., and Lila Ludwig; a sister, Mary Deloughery, of Toms River; a brother, Robert Harvie, of GA; and a daughter-in-law, Patty Swindell, of Toms River.

Visitation will be Friday, January 16, 2026, from 9:30-11:30am at the Flynn and Son/ Mitruska Funeral Home 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863. Funeral services will begin on Friday, at 11:30 am in the Funeral Home. Followed by a 12 noon Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Peace Church in Fords. Cremation is private.
