John "Jake" DiPietro, 90 of Edison passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Jamesburg, Jake had lived in Edison for 53 years. Jake was a Carpenter and worked for Ferrugia Custom Builders, Watchung for many years before retiring in 1995. He was also a member St. Luke's Episcopal Church of Metuchen and actively involved in the Vestry and Men's Lunch Club at the church, and was also a member of the Clara Barton Senior Social Club for almost 20 years.
Jake was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah DeVoe and a brother, Tony. He is survived by his wife Barbara to whom he was married to for 53 years; his three children, Joseph DiPietro of VA, Betty DiPietro of Woodbridge and John DiPietro and his wife Barbara of MD; a brother, G. Joseph DiPietro and his wife Ann; a sister, Nancy Cerretti; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 10 AM on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Metuchen. Private cremation will follow. Visitation will be held on Friday, from 2-4 and 7-9 at Flynn and Son / Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Ave., Metuchen. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 17 Oak Ave., Metuchen, NJ 08840.
