Obituary

John Deliman, 70, of Monroe, passed away at St. Peter's Hospital on December 31, 2012. Born in Perth Amboy on January 31, 1942, John has resided in Monroe for the last 7 years. Previously he lived in Florida, Woodbridge, and Perth Amboy. He was Chief of Detectives of the Middlesex County Prosecutors Office for 31 years. He was a member of the P.B.A. John also served in the US Navy, stationed at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He graduated Perth Amboy High School, Class of 1960. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Perth Amboy. He played professional baseball for the Atlanta Braves Triple-A team and later enjoyed playing softball.

He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Mary Deliman.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Shirley (nee Pirigyi) Deliman of Monroe; daughter, Debra Krakosky and her husband Richard of Monroe; son, David Deliman and his wife Christina of Millstone; daughter, Cheryl Bell and her husband Jeffrey of Monroe; six grandchildren: Jenna, Gabriella, Christopher, Alexia, Madison, and Collin; brother, Dennis Deliman and his wife Antoinette of Edison; and brother-in-law, Gordon Pirigyi and his wife Karen of Sayreville.

Visitation will be Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 pm with a Panachida Service at 7:30, at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863. Funeral services will begin Friday at 9:15am at the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Service of Divine Liturgy at St. John's Church. Interment will be in St. John's cemetery.
