John P. Connolly passed away on August 20, 2024, at Dwellside Care and Rehab Center.  He was a resident at Bancroft Neurohealth for the past 30 years.

John was predeceased by his mom, Claudia Connolly.

He is survived by his dad, John, and Mary Ann Connolly; his step-dad, Tom Hayevy; his brother, Kevin Connolly; his sister, Kelly, and her husband, Jared Boyd; and his nephews, Connor-Zachary and Caden Boyd.  John was enriched by many aunts, uncles and cousins.  He loved visiting them all when he was on a home visit and holidays.  He loved going to Metuchen for a walk and having a bagel and diet soda as a special treat.

We are thankful for John's extended family at Bancroft.  To all the staff at his group homes and work program, we are very grateful and blessed for your love and the care you have given John.

John's favorite line was, "I'm back on track."  We always said to John, "Be nice to people and they will be nice to you."  In John's memory, please do an act of kindness.  They say, "kind is the new cool."

John will be laid to rest with his mom at Hillside Cemetery, Metuchen, NJ.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Avenue, Metuchen, NJ.
