Obituary

John Andersch, 80, of Fords, NJ, entered into eternal rest on February 24, 2023, at JFK Medical Center in Edison, NJ surrounded by his family. John was born and raised in Perth Amboy until 1998 when he moved to Fords where he resided for the last 25 years.

John is predeceased by his parents, John Andersch and Anna (n. Sasala), and his sister, Rosemarie Karolye.

He leaves behind his loving wife of more than 40 years, Carolee Andersch, of Fords; his dear sons: Matthew Andersch, and his wife, Amanda, of Edison; Scott Andersch, and his wife, Lauren, of Manalapan; his brother, George Andersch, and his wife, Vivian, of North Dakota; and his cherished four grandchildren, Robert, Melinda, Nicholas, and Kennedy.

John was a veteran of the United States Army. He was also a heavy equipment operator and a volunteer firefighter in Perth Amboy. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a lifetime member of the Riverside Rod and Gun Club. He also loved watching and cheering for the Yankees. But most of all, John adored spending time with his grandchildren who lovingly referred to him as Pop-Pop.

John truly had a heart of gold and was pure joy to be around. He was loved by friends and family alike and will be fondly remembered for his unwavering kindness, cheerful smile, and generosity. It was his utmost pleasure to assist others in need. He could chat for hours about nothing and make a short story long. John's attention to detail was impeccable, which would sometimes drive his family crazy. John has left a void in the lives of so many that can never be filled and he will be forever missed.

It has been said, "heroes get remembered, but legends never die," and John was a true legend to all.
