Obituary

John William Adamshick, 50, a lifelong resident of Perth Amboy, passed peacefully at home on July 31, 2015.

John was a graduate of the Ukrainian Assumption School and Perth Amboy High School, where he had been a member of the Marching Band and Stage Band, which fueled his lifelong passion for playing the drums. John also was an avid fisherman.

He was a communicant of the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Perth Amboy, where he was also a member of the Holy Name Society, the Church Bingo Committee, past member of the Church Choir Boyan and the League of Ukrainian Catholic Youth.

John retired in 2003 after 20 years with the NJ State Division of Motor Vehicles, in Rahway.

He was predeceased by his beloved father, William, who died in 2014 and is survived by his beloved mother, Joyce Adamshick, his two devoted brothers, Michael and William, William's fiancé, Mary and his nephews, Andrew and Matthew Adamshick.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave. Fords, NJ 08863. Funeral services will begin on Thursday morning, August 6, 2015 at 9:30 am from the from the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, followed by a 10 am Service of Divine Liturgy at the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Assumption of the BVM, Perth Amboy. Interment will follow in the church cemetery in Hopelawn.
