Johanna Misura (Sramaty), 95, of Jackson, passed away at Bartley Healthcare of Jackson on January 25, 2024.  She was born on January 24, 1929, in Perth Amboy.  She was a graduate of Perth Amboy High School, Class of 1946.  She met the love of her life, John Misura, Jr., shortly after high school, and later married in 1949.  Johanna was a Bookkeeper for John Misura Painting and Paperhanging in Fords.  She was also a devoted housewife and mother.

Later on in life, Johanna announced her Profession to enter the order of "The Precious Blood of Jesus" Chapter Third Order Carmelite, of St. Johns R.C.C. in Lakehurst, NJ, taking the name Maria Ann Therese of the Merciful Trinity.  She was a member of the St. Aloysius Church and Choir in Jackson.  Johanna will be remembered for her compassion and kindness towards everyone.   Her pride and joy were her family and especially, her grandchildren.

Johanna was predeceased by her husband, John Misura, Jr.; three brothers: John Sramaty, Michael Basarab, and Edward Sramaty; and two sisters: Emily Sramaty and Rose Mary Basarab.

She is survived by a daughter, Denise M. Vaeth, and her husband, Dennis, of Fords; three sons: Keith J. Misura and his companion, Barbara; John B. Misura, of Jackson; Andrew S. Misura, and his wife, Penny, of Milltown; six grandchildren: Dennis Jon, Nicole and her husband, Brian; Krista and her husband, Ryan; Andrew, Jonathan, and Charles. She is also survived by a brother: John Basarab and his wife, Yvonne; three sister-in-laws: Anne Misura, Janet Sramaty, and Rosemarie Basarab; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863 on Monday, January 29, 2024, from 9-10 am. Funeral services will begin at 10 am in the funeral home. A 10:30 am Funeral Liturgy will be in Our Lady of Peace Church in Fords. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
