Obituary

Pastor Joe O. Nazario, 50, of Perth Amboy, NJ peacefully made his transition into the spiritual realm on Monday February 3 rd , 2020 at JFK Medical Center in Edison.  He was born on Monday, December 8 th 1969 to his loving mother Margarita and father Jose. Joe graduate d from Elizabeth High School, c lass of 1987 and joined the United States Navy shortly after where he was stationed in Japan. Joe was the Sr. Pastor of Holy Trinity C.O.G.I.C in Perth Amboy, NJ. He enjoyed acting in various play productions, mentoring, coaching and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Joe worked for the Borough of Eatontown, NJ as a street technician for many years.  He truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures. A social butterfly, every person i n the world was just a friend he hadn't met yet.  Joe always saw the positive potential in people, even if no one else could see it .  With an infectious sense of humor, vibrant personality and engaging character, Joe had an uncanny ability to reach and connect with people in a deep and positive way.

Above all, Joe loved his family. He was a supportive pastor, loving husband, devoted father, son, brother and friend. Waiting to meet him is his grandmother, Ceferina Ortiz and uncle Edwin "Eddie" Ortiz. Joe is survived by his wife of 25 years Tara Nazario, his daughter Nadya and son Joshua Nazario of Perth Amboy;  h is spiritual daughter Jennifer Ortiz of East Brunswick; mother, Margarita Ortiz, of Linden; sisters Olga Ortiz-Morales and Carmen Jimenez (Miguel) of Linden; brother Carlos Nazario (Rachel) of North Brunswick ; sister Maritza Nazario of Newark , uncles; many nieces and nephews; cousins; his church family and a host of friends.

A viewi ng will be held at the Locket Memorial Church of God in Christ, 1301 Lincoln St., Linden NJ 07036, on Saturday , February 8, 2020 at 10 am followed by a celebration of life at 12 noon. The interment will follow at Alpine Cemetery , 703 Amboy Ave., Perth Amboy, NJ.
