Joan Markey (nee: McGovern), 82, of Edison passed away on April 15, 2012, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was born in New York City and resided in Edison for the past 25 years. Joan worked in the New Accounts Department at Wachovia Bank in Edison, retiring in 1999.
She was a communicant of St. Francis Cathedral in Metuchen.

Joan was predeceased by her husband, Robert, in 2005 and her son, Thomas, in 1996. Surviving, are her sons: James and his wife Lori of KY; Christopher and his wife Katie of MI; and Andrew and his wife Alise of NJ; her daughter, Kathleen Toth of Edison; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four sisters; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Avenue, Metuchen, on Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at 9:45 AM followed by a 10:15 AM Funeral Liturgy at St. Francis Cathedral, Metuchen. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Metuchen. Viewing will be on Tuesday, April 17, from 7:00-9:00 PM.
