Joan Kossowsky, 89, a lifelong resident of Perth Amboy, passed peacefully early Saturday morning, September 15, 2018, at the Haven Hospice Unit at the JFK Medical Center in Edison.

She was the owner of the Pride 'N' Joy children's clothing store in Perth Amboy from 1954 thru 1978.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Mortimer and her long time companion, Arnold Sandberg.

She leaves behind her beloved daughter, Emily Gelbert of West Newton, MA, her beloved son, Andrew Kossowsky and his wife Karen, of Fords, her five dear grandchildren and her devoted sister, Muriel Isaacson of Boise, Idaho.

Graveside services will be conducted on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at 11 a.m. by Rabbi Sara Metz at the Beth Mordecai Cemetery on Florida Grove Rd, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861. Arrangements are under the direction of the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave. Fords, NJ 08863.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Deborah Heart & Lung Hospital, Browns Mills NJ.
