October 7, 1945 – January 21, 2024
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Joan E. Haborak. Joan passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday January 21st. Joan was born in Staten Island NY on October 7, 1945. She graduated from Perth Amboy High School Class of 1963 and lived in Perth Amboy for over 70 years before moving to Brick NJ. Joan led a fulfilling life working in the medical field.
Joan is predeceased by her parents, Robert and Mary Handerhan, as well as her brothers-in-law, George Sahul, John D. Haborak, and Frank Wojciechowski. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 60 years, Thomas Haborak Sr., and her four children, Leah Ann Haborak, Thomas Haborak Jr. and his wife Paula, Eileen Conway and her husband John, and Jennifer Gold and her husband Doug. She is also survived by her sisters, Patricia Sahul, and Mary Quinn, and her husband, Michael, her brother, Robert Handerhan III, and his wife, Ann, and sisters-in-law, Patricia Haborak and Margo Wojciechowski.
Joan was blessed with eight grandchildren, Joseph Novak, Thomas Haborak III, Genevieve Monanian and her husband Charles, Sarah Novak, Rocco Haborak, McKayla Conway, Matthew Bleichner, Joshua Gold, and Abigail Gold.
Joan enjoyed cruising the high seas with her dear friends Rich and Judy Roszkowski and entertaining, especially at Christmas with her children and grandchildren.
Joan will be dearly missed and forever loved by all.
Visitation will be on Thursday January 25, 2024, 4-8PM, at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords NJ 08863. Funeral services will begin Friday, 10AM, at the funeral home followed by a 10:30AM Funeral Mass at Holy Trinity Church located at 315 Lawrie St. in Perth Amboy. Entombment will be in Saint Gertrude Cemetery & Mausoleum located at 53 Inman Avenue, Colonia, NJ 07067.
In honor of loved ones living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), donations can be made to the National MS Society.
