Joan R. Chaneski 84, beloved wife of the late Mitchell E. Chaneski, mother, and grandmother, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2013.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a viewing at the Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home 319 Amboy Avenue, Metuchen, N.J., on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. Entombment will follow in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens.
Joan was born in London, England and later moved to Warrington, England where she met Mitchell, who was serving in the US Air Force. Soon after, Joan and Mitchell married, and the young couple moved to Texas, where Mitchell served out his enlistment. Joan lived much of her life in Clark, NJ. She worked with her husband at his business, Mitchell's Typewriter Company, in Rahway for almost 30 years, while raising her two sons. In recent years Joan and Mitchell resided in Monroe Township before moving to Edison four years ago.
Joan is survived by her sons Wayne and his wife Debbie, and Steven and his wife Lee-Ann Marra Chaneski; and two grandchildren Laura Chaneski Karnas and Scott Chaneski.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
