Jeremiah J.
Masin
April 30, 1958 – August 17, 2022
Jeremiah [Jerry] J. Masin, 64, of Colonia, New Jersey entered into eternal life on August 17, 2022.
Born in Jersey City, N.J., to the late Jerry and Adele (nee:Konczal) Masin. Jerry lived in Colonia for the past 26 years.
Jerry received his BA in Communications from Rutgers University and his Master's of Science in Management from the University of Maryland – University College. Jerry had a career that spanned over 30 years in senior general management, consultancy advisement for early stage and distressed companies, human capital infrastructure, information technology, pro bono consulting, and active volunteering with Rutgers University Alumni Association.
As a Rutgers undergraduate, he co-founded Knight Time Television Productions, a student-run television production company and the organization where he met his best friend and fun-loving life partner, Nora Masin. Jerry and Nora went on to have their son, Zachary Mansfield Masin.
Jerry always embraced everything he went into with 120% conviction. He learned to ski later in life, took up the game of golf and attained an 8 handicap, refurbished his precious red Mustang, and became a master chef at home.
Jerry enjoyed history and shared this passion, especially for Civil War history, with his son and his father. He traveled the world for his work and the family enjoyed his long-term assignment in London. He spent hours tending to his two favorite cats – Napoleon and Charlemagne. This profound love led to an inspired change where helping animals became his personal #1 priority. He often mused that he should have chosen a career as a veterinarian.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was predeceased by his sister, Maryann Garner and brother-in-law, John W. Byrne. He is survived by his wife, Nora and son, Zachary; sister-in-law Susan Mansfield Byrne of Edison; sister-in-law Judy Young and her husband, Dennis of Wall, NJ; brother-in-law Bruce Garner of Bloomfield; niece Jacquelyn Young of Wall; nephews Gregory Young and his wife April of Wall and Anthony Garner and his wife, Alyssa of Pompton Lakes.
Friends may call on Sunday, August 21, 2022 from 2pm - 6pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:45 a.m. on Monday, August 22, 2022 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 420 Inman Avenue, Colonia. Cremation will take place privately follow the Funeral Mass.
