Obituary

Jeanette L. Nagy, 77, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2021, at the Roosevelt Care Center in Edison, NJ. She was a lifelong resident of Woodbridge Township.

She matriculated through the public school system beginning in Ford Ave. School #14 moving on to Woodbridge High School where she graduated in 1961.  She entered Cedar Crest College in Allentown, PA, graduating in 1965 with a BA degree in Elementary Education.  She began her career as a Teacher in Edison Township in September 1965.  After a brief hiatus to raise a family, she returned to teaching in the Woodbridge Township school system.  She continued her own education and received an MA degree in Elementary Education at Kean College.  She further added to her background at Kean College and Rutgers University as a Teacher of children with special needs.  In 1980, she was assigned to John F. Kennedy High School in Iselin as a Special Education Teacher and remained in that capacity where she served in distinction not only as a classroom teacher, but also as an advisor to several major student activities and finally as the supervisor for the school's SAT program for the Education Testing Service for college bound students.

Jeanette was a long-time parishioner at St. James Roman Catholic Church where she was a member of the choir and a CCD teacher.  She served as a volunteer with the Central Jersey Federal Credit Union as a member of the Board of Directors.  As a form or recreation and relaxation, she took up the activity of road running, participating in thousands of races, culminating in completing the New York City Marathon on its 25 th anniversary.

Jeanette was a lifelong lover of animals and had many adored pets throughout her life.  She was also a world traveler who had visited many places across the globe including many countries in Europe, the Mediterranean, Russia, the British Isles, Australia, the Caribbean, spots in South America and the Panama Canal.

Jeanette was predeceased by her husband, Frank, and her parents, Jennie and Joseph Forsthoffer, and several aunts and uncles.  She is survived by two sons, Daniel Francis (and wife Kathryn), and Christopher Patrick and three grandchildren:  Laszlo, Riley and Elijah and her longtime loving and beloved companion, John Hoagland.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 12 th from 1-4 PM at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave, Fords, NJ.  Funeral Services will begin at 9:30 AM on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 10 am at St. James RC Church, 369 Amboy Avenue, Woodbridge, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations to: Alzheimer's Association, 225 North Michigan Ave, FL 17, Chicago, IL 60601 in Jeanette's name will be greatly appreciated.
