Jean Dawson Koyen, 86, of Sarasota, Florida, passed away peacefully at her home on August 24, 2016. She was born in Brooklyn on September 12, 1929. Jean was a longtime resident of Edison, also residing in Bay Head and Jackson. She was an Administrative Assistant at the Rutgers Alexander Library. She was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church of Metuchen for 66 years and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Metuchen. Jean enjoyed going to the beach and spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Donald Koyen, in 1993.
Jean is survived by two daughters; Susan K. Meyer of Jackson, and Donna Koyen Gragnolati and her husband, Brian, of Mendham; son, Frederick Koyen and his wife, Karen, of Sarasota. FL.; six grandchildren: Ben, Kate, Bill, Allyson, Emily and Jillian.
Visitation will be at the Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home 319 Amboy Ave., Metuchen, NJ 08840, Thursday 10-11 am. A funeral service will follow at 11 am in the funeral home. Interment will be in Alpine cemetery in Perth Amboy.
