Jean Buckley (nee: Minan), 84 of Edison, passed peacefully at her home, on Friday, March 25, 2016.
Born in Wheeling West Virginia, she had resided in Metuchen for many years before moving to Edison 15 years ago.
She was a graduate of Jersey City Medical Center, Seton Hall University and
Columbia University, in NY City, where she received her PhD-Edu.
Jean's primary career was in the health care industry, as a nurse educator for over 40 years.
She retired in 1996 after serving as a registered nurse and teacher, having taught nursing at Middlesex County College in Edison and Rutgers University.
She was a communicant, and also served as a lector and greeter at St. Francis Cathedral, Metuchen and a volunteer at John E Toolan Kiddie Keep Well Camp in Edison.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband Daniel, who died in 1983, her dear parents; Irving and Anne (Fox) Minan and her two sisters Margaret Rita and Irene Balbo.
She leaves behind, her daughter, Noreen O'Sullivan and her husband Jerh of Ireland, her two grandchildren, Daniel and Kate, and her sisters; Mary Reynolds and Patricia Casey, also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Monday evening, March 28, 2016 from 7 – 9 pm and Tuesday March 29, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Ave. Metuchen, NJ 08840.
Funeral services will begin on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at 9:45 a.m. from the Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, followed by a 10:15 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at St. Francis Cathedral, interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
