Jarvis Klein 86, of Bridgewater, died peacefully at his residence at Arbor Glen on Wednesday.
He was born in the Bronx, NY, and was formerly of Queens Village, NY, and Colonia, NJ, before moving to Bridgewater 2½ years ago.
Jarvis was a Regional Manager with Heublein Inc. (now part of Di Agio Inc.) for more than 30 years before retiring in 1988. He was in his first year at Mississippi State University when he enlisted and became a 1st Lt. in the Army Corps of Engineers during WW II. He was a member of Temple Beth Mordecai in Perth Amboy and served on the Hebrew School Board at the Temple. He was a former member of the Queens Jewish Temple. Jarvis loved golf and his dogs, but most of all he loved his family.
Jarvis is survived by his loving wife, Ethel Rose Schulhaus Klein; his two dear daughters: Bernice Lamey and her husband Paul of Millington, and Marcia Huntsman and her husband Kenneth of Clifton, VA; his loving grandchildren: Miriam, Steven, Stephanie, and Nicole; his brother, Jacob, of Queens NY; sister, Sali Kennedy, of Austin Texas; many loving nieces, nephews, and grand nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 5, 2011, at 1:00 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 424 East Avenue, Perth Amboy. Interment will be in Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge.
