Janice Cucchiara, age 71, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 17, 2026, at the Hackensack Meridian Hospital in Hackensack, NJ.

Janice was born on November 14, 1954, to the late Dominic and Mary (Nicolais) Casimiro in Passaic, NJ. She grew up and spent her childhood in Lyndhurst, NJ. After high school, Janice lived in Edison and worked as a Recreation Leader for the Edison Township Recreation Department.

Janice was the sweetest and kindest soul, with the biggest heart and a love for life that touched everyone around her. Her family will always remember her strength, her gentle spirit, and the steady love that shaped their lives. She found joy in the simplest things, especially her beloved strawberry shortcake. Her three grandchildren brought her immense joy, and she loved each of them dearly. Her love, warmth, and beautiful spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Janice is predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph Cucchiara (2010).

Surviving Janice are her two daughters, Nicole Aravena and her husband Bobby, and Lisa Golembiewski along with her husband Charlie; her three grandchildren, Vincent, Alessia, and Vanessa; her two brothers, Thomas Casimiro and John Casimiro; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and brothers- and sisters-in-law.

Visitation will take place on Monday, August 24, 2026, between the hours of 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Flynn and Son / Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ 08863. Funeral services will begin the next morning, Tuesday, at the funeral home at 10:00 AM. A funeral mass will then follow at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church, Fords, NJ. Janice will be laid to rest with her husband, Joseph, in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
