James R. Thomas, 71, of Edison, passed away at home, on September 30, 2023. He was born in New Brunswick on September 18, 1952.  He was a Taxi Driver for Double A Cab in Highland Park. James was an avid sports fan, rooting for the Giants, Yankees and Knicks.

He was predeceased by his parents, John C. Sr., and Jane A. Thomas; daughter, Jennifer Nicolaisen.

James is survived by his wife, Christine Thomas, of Metuchen; three sons: Maxon Thomas, of Fords, Todd Thomas, of Fords, and James Smith, of FL; two grandchildren, Danny and James Nicolaisen; great- granddaughter, Hailey; three brothers, Robert Thomas, and his wife, Donna, of Toms River; John Thomas, and his wife, Dale, of Edison, and Richard Thomas, and his wife, Mary Ann, of Jeffersonville, ID.
