Obituary of James Gregory Petosky


James Gregory Petosky, Jr., 56, of Fords, passed away Friday, January 3, 2020 at his home. Mr. Petosky was born in Mount Lebanon, PA. and had previously lived in Edison before moving to Fords twenty five years ago. Mr. Petosky was a US Marine Corps Veteran.

He was employed as a mechanic with Russel Reid in Keasbey. He was a member of the St. Francis Cathedral in Metuchen and a former member of the Raritan 2 Fire Company, Edison and the Fords Fire Company #1. Greg was predeceased by his step mother Connie Petosky in 2018 and a brother Marc Petosky in 2006.

He is survived by his loving wife of thirty four years, Carolyn Beyers Petosky, a daughter, Lauren Petosky of Fords, his father James G. Petosky of Brandon Fl., a brother Eric Petosky of Youngsville, NC., a sister, Robyn Watwood of Monticello, NY. and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday 9:30 am at the Mitruska Funeral Home, Inc., 531 New Brunswick Ave., Fords. Followed by a 10:15 am mass in the Cathedral of St. Francis of Assisi in Metuchen. Private cremation will follow in the Rosehill Crematory in Linden. Visitation hours will be held Tuesday from 4 - 8 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Foundation.
