Obituary

James H. Johns, Jr., 87, a Parlin resident since 1955, died on Friday November 11, 2011, at the JFK Medical Center in Edison.

He was a retired U.S. Army Sergeant having served for 23 years during WW II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. He was the owner of Johns Auto Body Shop in Perth Amboy. He was a communicant of St. Bernadette's Church in Parlin, a member of the Sayreville American Legion Post #211, The Retired Sergeants Association, and The Retired Enlisted Association in Washington, D.C.

James is predeceased by his son-in-law, Gary Wanca, who died in 2004. He is survived by his wife, Sophie Johns; his two sons: James H. Johns, III and his wife Faye of North Carolina and William Johns and his wife Laura, of Sayreville; his two daughters: Peggy Nuber and her husband Cliff of Hopelawn and JoAnn Wanca of Millstone; his seven grandchildren; and seven great- grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be on Friday, November 18, 2011, at 8:45 a.m. from the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ 08863 followed by a 9:30 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at St. Bernadette Church in Parlin.
Interment will follow in the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 17, 2011, from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in James' memory to the American Legion Post # 211, 240 Macarthur Ave., Sayreville, NJ 08872.
