James Harrigan, 81, of Metuchen, passed away on January 14, 2015 at Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center, Edison. He was born in Elizabeth and resided the last 35 years in Metuchen. James was an Inventory Control Clerk for 47 years with Nuodex / Tenneco Chemicals in Piscataway, retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary for 15 years.
James was predeceased by his wife Josephine (Imperato) in 2013 and a daughter Donna. Surviving are his daughter, Susan Harrigan Fowles and her husband John of Roselle, Eileen Leiser of Roselle, step-son, Charles Hecht and his wife Hilda of Freehold, step-daughter, Joanne Cook and her husband Gary of Bloomfield; also 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM on Monday, January 19, 2015, at Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Ave, Metuchen. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Metuchen. Viewing will be Sunday 2-4 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
