James "Jim" Davis, 80, of Edison, N.J., passed away Friday, July 30, 2010, at JFK Medical Center in Edison, surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 3, at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, N.J. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, at the funeral home followed by a 9 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at St. Francis Cathedral, Metuchen, N.J. Interment will be in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia, N.J.
Born in Bloomfield, N.J., Mr. Davis graduated from Saint Peter's College and resided in Edison for 45 years. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked for several insurance companies as a claims manager and corporate trainer for more than 40 years, retiring in 1997. He was a communicant of St. Francis Cathedral and a member of Adoration Society and Adult Faith Formation Group. He was a volunteer with Salvation Army Reading Tutor Program and a former Little League baseball coach in Edison.
He was predeceased by his parents, James and Margaret Radford Davis, and his brothers, Edwin, Arthur and Raymond. Surviving are his beloved wife, Patricia Kane Davis, to whom he was married for 45 years; three sons, Timothy K. and wife, Susan, of San Francisco; Stephen J. and wife, Anne, of Clinton, Conn., and Christopher P. and wife, Amanda, of North Brunswick, N.J.; one daughter, Marianne, and husband, Salvatore Siciliano of East Brunswick, N.J., and four cherished grandchildren, Kathryn, Emily, Sean and Colin.
