James ("Jim") J. Costigan, 78, of Edison, passed peacefully on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at St. Francis Hospital, Roslyn, NY.  Born in Brooklyn, NY, and formerly of Merrick, NY, Morristown, NJ, and Plainfield, NJ, he resided in Edison since 1997.  He was a retired Pipe Fitter for Bell Labs/Lucent of Murray Hill, NJ.  He was a former President of CWA Local #1060.

He was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Mary Beth Costigan (2004).

Jim leaves behind his beloved wife of 16 years, Elda Costigan; his three brothers:  Philip Costigan, Paul Costigan and his wife, Susan, all of Merrick, NY, and William Costigan of Florida; his niece, Jennifer Thomas (Wayne); his goddaughter and niece, Meghan Kraus (Justin) of Bellmore, NY; his niece, Amanda Pawski (Paul); and nephew, Sean Costigan (Michelle); and his beloved "adopted daughters," Barbara Bradley and Celina Wang.

Visitation will be on Saturday, September 15, 2018, from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave. Fords, NJ 08863.
Funeral services will be on Sunday, September 16, 2018, at 2 pm from the Flynn and Son Funeral Home. Cremation will follow privately.
